Add whipped cream and a dash of cocoa powder for an extra indulgent twist. Experiment with different ratios until you find the perfect balance of minty and rich flavors.
In this article, we will look at various ways to make this delectable mixture, as well as provide you with the tips and tricks you need to get the perfect balance of minty and rich flavors.
Crushed Peppermint Candies
Look no further than crushed peppermint candies for a quick and easy method to give your coffee the delicious flavor of peppermint. It’s an easy process that involves little work yet produces excellent results. Here is how to go about it:
Start by making a brand-new cup of your favorite coffee. You have a choice between a smooth, medium roast or a robust, dark roast. Put a few peppermint candies in a plastic bag while the coffee is brewing. Crush the candies using a rolling pin or another sturdy instrument until they are in manageable pieces.
Pour your coffee into your preferred mug with care once it is finished brewing. Add the crushed peppermint candies to the mug of hot coffee at this point. Make sure the candies are well dissolved by giving the coffee a strong stir. The coffee’s heat will cause the crushed candies to melt, releasing their sweet and minty flavor throughout the entire cup.
For individuals who prefer a milder flavor, this procedure produces a barely detectable peppermint flavor. The richness of the coffee is balanced by the peppermint candies without being overpowered, resulting in a flavorful fusion. You’ll taste a light wave of cooling mint with every sip, which improves how much you like your coffee overall.
When utilizing crushed peppermint candies, experimentation is essential. Depending on the intensity you desire, you can change the amount. Add extra crushed candies if you prefer a stronger peppermint flavor. Alternatively, if you want a more delicate touch, cut back on the amount. Finding the ideal mix that appeals to your taste receptors is key.

Peppermint Extract
Peppermint extract is a great choice for people who like their coffee to have a stronger, more noticeable peppermint flavor. This technique enables you to add a concentrated burst of minty freshness to your coffee, producing a reviving and stimulating sensation. Here is how to go about it:
Make a cup of coffee that suits your tastes first. Make sure the coffee is freshly brewed and hot whether you like it strong like an espresso or smooth like a drip brew. When the coffee is prepared, pour it into your preferred mug, allowing room at the top for the peppermint extract to be added.
Add a few drops of peppermint essence very carefully to the coffee. Since peppermint extract is highly concentrated and a little goes a long way, it’s important to start with a tiny quantity. Make sure the flavors are dispersed equally by firmly stirring the coffee and extract together with a stirrer or spoon.
Enjoy the transformation as it happens for a moment. As the lovely experience is about to begin, the scent of peppermint will fill the air. When you first put the cup to your lips, a rush of minty pleasure will instantly transform your ordinary coffee into a distinctive and energizing peppermint delight.
The advantage of utilizing peppermint extract is that you can regulate how strong the flavor is. Add a couple more drops of extract and whisk once more for a stronger mint flavor. Use fewer droplets, though, if you prefer a more understated finish. It’s a matter of taste, so you can experiment until you find the ideal ratio that pleases you.
There is no need for additional ingredients or preparations when using peppermint extract to give your coffee a strong mint taste boost. It’s a flexible choice that enables you to have a revitalizing peppermint coffee whenever you choose. Adding peppermint extract to your coffee routine can awaken your senses and deliver a pleasurable experience, whether you’re trying to jump-start your morning or need an afternoon pick-me-up.
Peppermint Syrup
Peppermint syrup is a great alternative if you’re searching for a hassle-free and readily available way to give your coffee a delicious peppermint flavor. Flavored syrups, like peppermint, are widely accessible in grocery stores and online merchants and provide a practical approach to improving your coffee experience. Here’s how to utilize peppermint syrup to make a delicious coffee and mint concoction:
Brew your coffee, as usual, to get started. Make sure your coffee is hot and ready whether you use a French press, pour-over, or any other brewing method. Pour your freshly brewed coffee into your preferred mug or cup, leaving room for the peppermint syrup to be added later.
Pour some peppermint syrup into the mug along with your freshly brewed coffee. Your liking for sweetness and peppermint flavor intensity will determine the precise amount. To achieve the right balance, start with a modest estimate and make little adjustments over time. Stir the coffee slowly and well with a spoon or stirrer to properly distribute the peppermint syrup.
As you stir, you’ll smell the seductive aroma of peppermint enveloping the cup and tempting your senses with its cooling allure. As the syrup’s sweetness and minty flavor turn your everyday coffee into a delicious treat, you’ll enjoy the harmonious combination of coffee and mint with every drink.
Controlling the sweetness and strength of the peppermint flavor is one of the benefits of utilizing syrup. Add a bit more syrup if you’d like the mint flavor to be more overt. On the other hand, apply less if you desire a softer touch. Finding the ideal balance that satisfies your taste receptors is everything.
A flexible alternative for personalizing your coffee experience is peppermint syrup. By experimenting with different combinations, you can add extras like cocoa powder, whipped cream, or even a dash of cinnamon for a unique flavor. The syrup’s concentrated flavor and silky texture guarantee a consistent, delicious flavor throughout your cup of coffee.
Drinking a cup of coffee that has been spiked with peppermint syrup enables you to instantly experience a rush of minty freshness. It’s a practical choice that offers an easy method to improve your coffee-drinking experience. The mix of coffee and peppermint syrup is sure to gratify your taste buds and leave you feeling rejuvenated, whether you’re starting your day, taking a break, or simply desiring a comfortable beverage.
Whipped Cream Topping
Add a spoonful of whipped cream as a creamy garnish to improve your peppermint coffee and create a genuinely decadent experience. Your taste senses will be left wanting more as a result of the delicious contrast created by the chilly, velvety texture of the whipped cream and the invigorating mint flavors. How to add whipped cream to peppermint coffee is as follows:
You have a choice between using pre-made store-bought whipped cream or making your own. If you opt to make your own whipped cream, start by placing a bowl and whisk in the freezer for around 15 minutes. The base for the cream is stabilized during this stage. Pour chilled heavy cream into the bowl, then sprinkle a little sugar over the top to bring out the sweetness. Depending on your preferences, the sugar content can be changed. The cream should be vigorously whisked until soft peaks form. When the cream maintains its structure but still curls slightly at the whisk’s tip, soft peaks have formed.
Place a big dollop of freshly made whipped cream on top of your peppermint coffee with care. The coffee will look enticing as the cream floats on top of it. Take a minute to savor the fragrances and anticipate the rich flavors as you raise the cup to your lips.
When you first take a drink, the blend of the chilly, creamy whipped cream and the cooling, minty coffee will be opulent and decadent. The whipped cream’s silky texture will blend with the minty flavors, giving your beverage an added layer of delicacy and richness.
You are welcome to modify the whipped cream’s volume to suit your tastes. Some people might favor a thin coating, letting the flavors blend gently, while others could prefer a thick layer for a stronger richness. Your decision is yours.
Make sure to let the cream and coffee meld together in each subsequent sip to produce a flavorful fusion. A pleasant and opulent sipping experience will emerge from the delightful contrast between the chill of the whipped cream and the warmth of the coffee.

Cocoa Powder Sprinkle
Think about sprinkling a little cocoa powder over the whipped cream to increase your peppermint coffee’s sensory appeal. The overall experience will be significantly impacted by this minor addition. The faint bitterness of the cocoa powder wonderfully balances the peppermint’s sweetness, resulting in a delicious and flavorful concoction.
As you take a sip, the aromatic cocoa powder will combine with the rich, creamy, mint-infused whipped cream to create a flavor that is both complex and well-balanced. A wonderfully decadent feast for your taste buds is created by the bitterness of the cocoa powder, which contrasts and balances the sweetness of the peppermint.
The cocoa powder added on top of the whipped cream not only improves the flavor profile but also gives the dish a more pleasing appearance. Your peppermint coffee becomes an alluring and appealing feast for the eyes as well as the taste sensations thanks to the gorgeous contrast between the white cream and the dark, velvety powder.
Experiment with Ratios
When making peppermint coffee, finding the ideal taste harmony is a thrilling and individual trip. It all comes down to experimenting and exploring various ratios until you find the perfect mix. Each person has different tastes; some prefer a more overtly minty flavor, while others prefer a more understated one.
Use a moderate amount of peppermint extract, syrup, or candies to begin your peppermint coffee exploration. This enables you to create a starting point and gradually modify the flavor to your preferences. Feel free to add a little extra peppermint ingredient if you prefer a stronger mint flavor. Adaptably lower the amount for a softer touch.
The trick is to strike a balance where the freshness of the mint elegantly complements the depth of the coffee. This exact balance makes sure that the flavors go well together, creating a really enjoyable and complete experience. You will find the exact blend that appeals to your taste buds and makes you happy with every sip if you have patience and are open to experimentation.

Hi! I’m Shawn Chun
My adventure in coffee began when I first launched my first coffee shop back in the early 2000s. I had to figure out so many things on my own and to make it worse within 2 years of opening two large corporate coffee chains moved in just blocks away from me!
As I saw smaller and even some larger coffee shops in the neighborhood slowly lose customers to these giant coffee chains and slowly close up shop, I knew that I had to start getting creative…or go out of business.
I (like you may be) knew the coffee industry well. I could make the best latte art around and the foam on my caps was the fluffiest you have ever seen. I even had the best state-of-the-art 2 group digital Nuova Simonelli machine money could buy. But I knew that these things alone would not be enough to lure customers away from the name brand established coffee shops.
Eventually, through lots of trial and error as well as perseverance and creativity I did find a way to not only survive but also thrive in the coffee/espresso industry even while those corporate coffee chains stayed put. During those years I learned to adapt and always faced new challenges. It was not always easy, however, in the end, I was the sole survivor independent coffee shop within a 10-mile radius of my location. Just two corporate coffee chains and I were left after that year. All told the corporate coffee chains took down over 15 small independent coffee shops and kiosks and I was the last one standing and thriving.
Along the years I meet others with the same passion for coffee and I quickly learned that it is not only “how good a barista is” that makes a coffee shop successful, but the business side of coffee as well.
Hence why I started this website you are on now. To provide the tools and resources for up and coming coffee shop owners to gain that vital insight and knowledge on how to start a coffee shop successfully.
Stick around, browse through my helpful blog and resources and enjoy your stay! With lots of LATTE LOVE!
